Christmas Spirit!!!
Christmas Spirit !!!!
When you are a child often you are made to do things you really do not understand more so comprehend but since one is told to do there is very little scope for questioning.
I would personally like to thank parents all over the world who take time out to instill certain values and beliefs and so at a very subconscious level ensure that the tradition and the culture of certain events are passed on to the generations to come. Sounds simpler than it really is……
What do you say to a person who is a non practicing Christian ….. Don’t get me wrong the faith is in place but with no fringes attached. Is it possible to have faith without reading the bible or going to church not being active in fellowship; with out your daily prayers; not being able to relate to bible or worse understand what it says….. I am not sure what kind of a Christian that makes.
But one thing that can not be ignored or avoided is:
That sometime during mid November some how there is spilling of the carols from the lips of the Individual. An individual who does not believe in celebration who probably is very selfish and cynical but it changes …. There are flashes of early morning sermon …. Those very cold nights …. Long walks with a group of people knocking on doors sharing the so called Christmas cheer with people you don’t know… never liked will never see again …. You go to their houses singing at 2 am and tell them the lord is here…. just like us he is knocking and he will bring eternal joy to the world.
Ha! I am not sure about bringing eternal joy to the world but I do know that ek raat “jhoom kar aayi pawan” and there was little drummer boy who stood beside the wise men trying to follow the star… basked in the silent night listening to the jingle in the heart. Some how that good ole’ Christmas cheer had engulfed him completely in the warmth of ovens loaded with freshly baked cakes… the whiff of cinnamon on the wheely doughnuts…. Long strands of tinsel on the floor, in the hair and some on the tree …. Home made Christmas tree ornaments… glitter on clothes… glow in the eyes Bing Crosby in the back ground singing “the lord has come let earth receive its king” …. There is no way out he opens his eyes a tear falls and lands on a picture… memories of childhood nostalgia of innocent years once again forces him to accept that if it was true then it has to be true Now there is Christmas cheer FOR ALLL….. Even the non practicing doubting Thomas like him…
So he says (sic) “Merry Christmas let the Christmas bring in the light of hope; love; Forgiveness (especially for one self) and peace within for all “
